Note: In addition to the uses shown below, 'over' is used after some verbs, nouns, and adjectives in order to introduce extra information. 'Over' is also used in phrasal verbs such as ‘hand over’ and ‘glaze over’. 1. If one thing is over another thing or is moving over it, the first thing is directly above the second, either resting on it, or with a space between them.
